Free listings and Shopping ads have related but distinct program rules. Start by identifying the affected destination, product, and enforcement message instead of assuming every listing issue is an account suspension.
Official Google policy
Google’s Free listings policies explain that enforcement may restrict or disapprove listings, limit visibility, or suspend accounts for repeated or egregious violations. The same page describes policy areas including prohibited content and practices, restricted content, and website requirements. Read the notice and policy link shown for your account.
Diagnose the scope
- Check the Merchant Center issue page for account-level versus product-level findings.
- Note whether the problem affects one product, a group of items, one destination, or the whole account.
- Compare product attributes with the landing page and current data source.
- Check target country, shipping and return information, business details, and page functionality.
- Review program eligibility and the actual products being submitted.
Google’s product data specification explains required attributes and how inaccurate data may affect eligibility. The issue guide explains where to find details and possible review options.
Industry practice and our recommendation
Make a table of affected items and group them by shared cause, such as identifier, price, availability, or destination. Correct the underlying source so the same issue does not return on the next feed upload. Do not remove evidence or create another account to bypass enforcement.
After correcting the live source, follow the review path available for the specific issue. Do not assume that a free-listings result predicts Shopping Ads approval or the reverse; verify each destination’s status.
