If the review option in Merchant Center is missing, greyed out, or says it is unavailable, there is usually a reason shown on the screen or inside the account. Google changes its wording and limits over time, so use this page as a list of things to check, not as a rulebook.
What Google's help pages say
Google's issue guidance explains that what you can do about an account or product issue depends on the issue. You may be able to fix the problem and ask for a review, or disagree and appeal, and review limits or extra verification can apply. So the first thing to read is the exact notice for your issue, not a general checklist.
Common reasons the option is not available
- Your user role. Review requests are made from inside the account, and not every user may see the control. Ask the account owner to check which role you have, or ask them to look at the page.
- A review is already in progress. If a request was already sent, the option may be hidden until the result arrives.
- A waiting period after a rejection. After a rejected review, Google may ask you to wait before sending another. Read the outcome message for any waiting time or next step.
- The issue has a different path. Some notices point to extra verification or a different form instead of a review button.
- Your changes have not been seen yet. If you only just changed your site or product data, it can take time before the account reflects it.
- More than one issue. An account can have an account-level problem and separate product-level problems. The review option may belong to a different issue than the one you are looking at.
- A display or sign-in problem. You may be signed in to the wrong account (common if you manage several), or the page may need a refresh in another browser.
What to check, in order
- Open the notice or Diagnostics and read the exact wording of the issue. Save a screenshot.
- Confirm you are signed in to the correct account, with a user that can manage it.
- Look for any text about a waiting period, verification, or a review already in progress.
- Check every issue listed, account level and product level, and fix what is real and within your control.
- Open your live site and your product data and confirm the changes are published.
- Wait, refresh, and try again in another browser. Do not repeat the same request many times.
What not to do
- Do not open a new account to get around a suspension. Google may treat related accounts as connected to the same issue.
- Do not send the same explanation again and again without a real correction or new evidence.
- Never share passwords or one-time codes with anyone. If you want a specialist to look at the account, invite their email as a user with the lowest access level that does the job, and remove it when the work ends.
Industry practice and our recommendation
When the option is missing, many store owners lose days guessing. A clear written record helps: the exact notice, each change you made with its date, and the live page that shows it. A second person who did not make the changes can read the notice and your site and spot gaps. That second look can find missing items, but it cannot predict a decision, and it is not a Google requirement.
If the notice shows no review path, and you have checked your role, the waiting period and each issue, a specialist can help you read it and plan next steps. We review the materials you share and do not need access to your account to start. See Merchant Center suspension support, read how to prepare an appeal and what to do after a rejected appeal, or browse the FAQ.
