Suspensions

Why Is My Google Merchant Center Suspended?

Learn how to read a Merchant Center suspension, distinguish account and product issues, and choose a careful next step.

A suspension is an account-level enforcement action that can stop eligible offers from appearing. The notice in Merchant Center and the affected account’s Needs attention or Diagnostics area are the best starting points. A short label is a clue, not a complete diagnosis.

What Google documentation says

Google describes account-level issues as issues that affect all products in an account. Warnings may identify a problem and a period to fix it; some serious issues can lead to suspension without a warning. Product-level disapprovals affect particular items instead. Read the current Merchant Center issue guidance and the exact notice shown in your account.

What to check first

  1. Record the exact issue name and the date shown. Keep the notice and relevant emails for your own reference.
  2. Confirm whether the issue is account-level or limited to specific products, destinations, or countries.
  3. Compare the affected offer with its landing page: identity, product details, price, availability, shipping, and return information should describe the same real offer.
  4. Review the storefront’s public contact and business details, policy pages, navigation, and checkout from a customer’s perspective.
  5. Check the product diagnostics for repeated patterns rather than editing unrelated pages at random.

Industry practice and our recommendation

An organized evidence log is useful: record each finding, the affected URL or item, the change made, and how you checked the live page. This is an operational practice, not an extra Google policy. Avoid repeated review requests before the relevant changes are live and checked. Do not create another account to get around an enforcement action.

GMCRestore’s diagnostic is limited to public website patterns and materials you choose to share. It does not sign in to Merchant Center or determine Google’s decision. For service scope, see suspension support, read related recovery guidance, or browse the FAQ.
